And to add to conflicting theories, the latest I heard, they’re releasing decisions daily after midnight. Which kinda makes sense because someone we know has their portal updated (with an acceptance) just after midnight.

I called today and yesterday and the admissions officer told me the same thing. I applied mid October with top 5% and high GPA still waiting for a decision, but I was test optional.
So should I be checking my portal at midnight every night?
Generally, yes. Their system probably updates at midnight.

I’m going to check every evening for the disappearing TO button. If it’s gone or has turned grey then check at midnight. Otherwise, get a good night’s sleep!

Were you calling for something specific or to just check on your application? I know it’s so hard to wait, but they won’t tell you anything about your decision over the phone and all they will tell you is you will get a decision by Dec24. If everyone called everyday - decisions would certainly be pushed back even further!
Resist the urge to call unless something is changing with your application.

I think it means nothing, it’s a means to get people to stop calling them. No one else said they got emails in advance of their decisions.

Does the test optional button go gray or disappear? Also, can you guys let me know about what time that button has been changing?
I think it means the students they want have already received admissions. It’s letting everyone left know to expect the end is near as it states EA gets an answer by December 24. I’m not being pessimistic, just honest with the process. I will be elated to get a yes, but at this point not surprised and will either get summer offering start or a no.
