I'm goin to be a freshmen at MSB, but i have 2 liberal arts classes, possibly 3 to take. I was thinkin about a history and then unsure what else, any current students have advice on another possible class? If i test out of calculus with my AP scores, any reccomendations on whether i should take a math or another liberal arts class?

any help from current g-town students? or incoming freshmen with an idea what they are taking?

hey
you should take
1) accounting 1
2) micro economics
these are a must
3) possibly international business
4) an english?
5) theology

you should take 1,2,3 coz those are all freshman classes....take IB with ronkainnen...he is the best..
then for 4 and 5 ....take 2 liberal art courses....phil, english, history, theology, psych/socio

yea i was wondering about any specific history, theology, or sociology clases you could recommend?

sociology....hmm...i dont know...i am taking intro socio myself next sem with mcnamara.
theology you can only take problem of god or intro to bib lit as the first requirement. for PoF, Sanders is very good and easy. Murphy is also good.
I dont know a lot about history

THANKS A TON BARCAHOLIC, your helpin me out alot w/my scheduling. I think I'm doing accounting, International business, problem of god, and then an english and another class. How was micro econ? Any teacher reccs?

And any reccs on any easy english class, or an enjoyable one? I'm not a huge reader, but tend to find modern lit a lot more exciting and interesting than older pieces.

enh....i hate english....effed up badly in my courses...so sorry..cant help you there.
will advise you to leave english right now..till you settle in and can ask around for a good prof...
take micro econ...coz you will find many freshman in it..and its good to get micro econ out of the way....
i placed out of econ coz of A levels...
another class...hmmm..calc 1? piece of cake...4 credits..
philosophy is good...take blattner..he is AWESOME

I would wait to take English because you should wait until you can get some 1st hand experience, coz english can be really good or really bad.

griffsta? do you speak spanish?? if you dom the span lit classes are awesome, especially teh contemporary lit ones. Take levinson for mico, he's the most straightforward.

kk heres what im thinking rite now:
Microecon with Levinson
Problem of God with Sanders
Accounting 1
International Biz with Ronkainnen
Philos with Blattner....
Is that a hard schedule? Should I take an elective in place of problem of god or philos?

That looks good, I've heard good things of Ronkainnen. It should be fine, pog is very laid back, you shoudl be good.

what in the world does the A-F (various times) B-F (various times) C-R (various times) thing mean after you choose a course? also how do you know if your course timings conflict?

Was it for econ, or anyother class that has discussion sections? Because those are the discussion section times, don't worry about them until the fall. They don't mean anything.

hoyadan how are accounting/ microecon? have you taken them, and if so what kind of classes are they? do you reccomend any electives that i should look into? thanks for all your help so far

hoyadan is in the SFS
he wont know about accounting.
i am in the msb, but i just transferred so i will take it acct 101 now in the fall. take jensen. he is the best.
btw, what course is blattner teaching? make sure you sign up for an intro course..you cant take a bridge course before taking an intro course....i think intro courses are 001-100.
its all on the website though..www.explore.georgetown.edu

BUT, I KNOW ABOUT ECON!! I hate Econ, and the most straightforward and clear prof for micro is Levinson. Yun is more vague, but pretty simple. Schwartz, is impossible.

kk thanks everyone for all of your help...it is much appreciated. One last question- intro to philos or intro to ethics? anyone have any personal preference, and if so, what teacher?

It really depends what your major is, or your field will be... if it's politics or science I'd do ethics, if your an english or history major phil is good. I've heard great about ethics, it is much more down to earth than phil.
