First time classes have been cancelled since 1978! I guess this means I am part of history.

Woo, I had an exam tomorrow. Nice.

My D is one happy girl. She is really tired of being cold!

Happy Dangerous Brutal Cold Day everyone!

I literally have no idea how you all cope with these insane temps. Be safe. Stay inside, if possible.

So excited I don’t have to risk life and limb today for school :)

My D still met with a mentor today that she scheduled last week. I hope she us back in the house warm and safe, now!

I was a senior when the U closed on the Monday after Thanksgiving in 1974 - 1st time EVER. It had snowed all day on Sunday and very few people made it back into Ann Arbor after the holiday. I don’t remember ever seeing it that empty, before or since. Thank goodness Pizza Bob’s and Campus Corners were open - we had pizza and beer that Sunday night in front of a big fire in my fraternity for the 10 or so guys (out of 30) that made it back.

I remember the closure in 1978. I went to my first class only to find the building almost empty. I took a lot of guff for even attempting to go out, but we hadn’t heard about an official closure, and I never missed class. Obviously, this was before technology made it possible to know when someone belches in Hong Kong.
