hey all, i'm going into my senior year, and i'm trying to decide whether or not take a few classes. right now the confirmed classes are AP Lit, AP Calc AB, AP Gov, and AP Econ. should i take AP bio? it is either i take AP Bio, or Honors Human Anatomy. would it be better to not focus on either and focus on the classes i have? i am 100% sure i am going into Aerospace Engineering, so i don't know how much use AP bio will have in college. besides, it is the hardest class on campus, and with my extra curriculars, there will be no way to maintain a strong gpa. help!

AP Calculus BC (instead of AB) would likely be the most worthwhile AP course for an intended engineering major. AP English Literature (if you do well enough on the test) tends to be worthwhile for students of all majors.

AP Biology (if you do well enough on the test) may count as a science elective, depending on the school.

at my school you have to take AB before you can take BC. so i won’t be able to take BC in high school.

Take Calc AB this summer at a cc.
Then you can take AP Calc BC senior year.
Did you take AP Physics already?

I wish I took AP Physics C and AP Calculus BC senior year.

I haven’t taken AP Physics, they don’t offer it at my school. The choice is literally between Honors Human Anatomy, APES, or AP Bio.

Can you take AP Physics at another hs in your district?
It would be worth the effort.

it would be possible, but for other reasons staying at this school would be more beneficial.

Take APES and AP Bio. Don’t take AP Lit.

You really should learn physics calculus above everything else. Don’t miss the opportunity of your last HS year because the introductory calc and physics classes will be 3X harder in college.

4 years of english is required to graduate at my school. i thought those requirements were universal?

AP Environmental Science is likely to be useless for credit for almost all engineering majors, while AP English Literature is typically one of the most useful AP tests for all students.

haha I took APES Senior year and I was going to be an engineer. That class is literally useless, no credit at all for it. I also took BC but treated it as a joke. However, I realized that it would have REALLY helped. If you retake calc in college, you will breeze through it. I say take Calc BC or if possible, physics, because freshman physics class SUCKED.

Edit: Let me clarify though, that APES was VERY easy. If you are looking to have a really fun senior year, take like APES and AP Stat like I did. AP lit was useful, but honors english will suffice too. Senior year is a joke. You could only get out of ENGL101 at my school for Junior year AP English (language and COmp I think?) so AP Lit was useless in turns of credit, although I did learn a lot of good writing techniques.

Seriously. Do you know how much work you are putting on your shoulder?
Senior year is not about getting the most APs. Senior year is about enjoying your last year of high school while earning as many credits as you can.
AP Bio is a lot of memorization. I don’t know if you are good at memorizing stuff, but look at how many AP classes you are taking.
And even considering AP physics? I think that’s just way too much.

You should relax. Chill.
You don’t need biology if you are going into aerospace engineering. You are better off taking college physics instead of using the AP credits. I think you need 5 on the Physics C to get away from first semester of physics.
