classes not done at time of transfer

i'm a comp sci eventual transferer. i applied to csu/ucs in socal, but took a hit by in winter semester not getting into an english class(making it impossible to get both done before transfer). data structures was also not offered this semester(despite the teacher saying otherwise to me personally), so I won't have that done either. lastly I won't have electromagnetism done by time of transfer, im registered to do waves right now.

math is done up to 1c, everything else is good. i'll have over 60 units by the end of the semester.

anyways I just want to confirm that colleges arent going to accept me with eng prereqs/core programming prereqs just sitting around and want to plan out what im gonna do/when to retransfer. thanks for any advice. I had intended to only have electromagnetism be my lingering prereq, but things sort of fell apart the past few months. Either way, I don't mind pumping a few more units out and retrying.

In general, each school has different requirements for a CS major transfer. They require and recommend various classes to be completed before/by the time you transfer so that they can ensure you graduate from their institution on time. I would double check the CS department websites for each school to make sure that they don’t require a second English class or Data Structures class.

If it’s required and you haven’t completed it, then they will most likely not accept you because you are not eligible to transfer. You might be able to work it out with them if this is the case (doing it over the summer or something).

Good luck!

Keep in mind some CSU’s don’t accept summer courses for transfer credit. Check with the ones that you applied to, to see if they’ll accept them or not before you go about taking summer courses.
