Hi!
[live in NJ]
I'm new to the forum as a registered user, but as a wandering viewer im old.

I'm a junior, 17, going into my Senior year in September. I want to know what i should do to get into schools like Boston University, Penn State, Rutgers, NYU (possibly), TCNJ and as of now thats all. I want to go into pre-med, major in chemistry and eventually become a trauma surgeon.

My SAT scores for the first time were 1600 (i know horrible, CR 550 M 550 W 500)
SAT II for US History: 700/800 (also waiting on APUSH and AP BIO scores)
I took the SATs again on June 4th, idk my scores yet.

For next year i'm taking ap calc, ap lit and comp, ap chem.
I've taken AP biology, honors biology, and honors chemistry.

I dont want to take physics as i am sure id do terribly.
I'm about rank 19-17/180 in my class, average grades are A- and B+s. I have alot of extracurricular.

Would colleges reject me since i didnt take physics?
And what subject tests should i take?

Honestly, if you have to choose between AP Biology and Physics, just choose the one that interests you more. Colleges should be impressed with both.

i took AP biology this year, my junior year, and for my senior year im taking ap chem since i want to pursue a chem major. One of my worries is that a college will reject me because i dont have physics like everyone else might.

bump^ since i havent recieved a reply yet lol

Physics is good to have. If your “terrible” is a “B,” then take the physics!

im also interested in BU have been wondering the same thing…I am taking ap physics because i heard its important to have all three bio, chem, and physics but that what i heard, i wouldnt worry too much about it.

thanks volistchan, but i’d get a C+ in physics probably, im great in physics-related math, im better off in chemistry since i actually can get As in that as i did in AP bio.

and yeah collegegurl, BU is my goal lol

Just take AP Chem if you want to major in Chemistry. According to BU’s website, they require “three years of laboratory science,” not the standard Bio, Chem, and Physics like many colleges require. Might wanna check out those other schools’ requirements, though.

thank you very much! will do!
