Classics at UConn

Uconn wasn't ever that high on my list, but given the expenses of other schools I'm applying to, going to UConn is seeming more and more likely. I was accepted EA as a Classics major, but what I'm not seeing much to get excited about on the department website.

Can anyone at UConn shed any light on the situation? What do you like about the department, what should be improved?

Thanks in advance!

I assume you are referring to the Classics and Mediterranean studies major?

This is, obviously, a humanities major. There could be more course offerings at more difficult levels, but the professors (from what I have noticed and heard from others) are knowledgeable. That being said, the department is not a large one, and thus is not funded as well as other departments.

What other information are you looking for?

One of the bloggers on the admissions site is a Mediterranean Studies major. If that is related to what you want to do maybe that would be helpful.

That is actually probably perfect. I was looking for student input. Thanks.
