oh it's not hopeless; both the plebes that made it this year were out of high school. they were also unbelievable physically fit. you'll see how many people want to be on that team when you get to beast... if you make it that far.

just remember, you can sign your papers at any time and be done with it all. don't ever let that thought out of your head, I hear it helps.

USMADAD2010 was right, it doesn't take long for the WP upperclassmen to notice your little rants. i'm just waiting to see who the new "MySpace Kid" will be this year. <evil laugh=""></evil>

in response to "ranger" ... getting to know upperclassmen is a good idea, but it won't save you during beast, especially if someone finds your name somewhere... talk about called out...

looking forward to seeing some of you at beast, it's gonna be interesting...

also, if you really hate someone, go ahead and post their real name here. that name will hit the whole Corps of Cadets within about 20 minutes, just like the link for this site did.

Going along with that, I found out about this thread from an email distro. Yeah, try not to rant that much where upperclass can find out about it.

Wow, to think that my little rant made it all the way to a WP company distro. Hey guys! Wouldn't it suck if you found my name and made my life a living hell when I got there? Oh man...anyway, I ain't trying to be a tough s***, I'm just saying that I don't like the guy and wanted to see if anyone else saw the same thing for the same reasons. No need to pounce. Hell I don't even have a myspace/facebook/xanga. That would just be stupid.

Wow Voxist, thats some tough talk. Man, it would be rough if everyone looked at your last 20 posts and found out you do have a myspace, and can draw enough information to know exactly who you are when you get here. (D-4 on the tour on Oct 23-24 eh?) That would make it a very rough Beast, but good thing you are hard enough to trash talk a classmate of your own while at the same time vindicating yourself as the epitome of a soldier. sometimes staying quiet really will help you out. dont worry you will learn that in about oh lets say forty days.

be careful on what you say or more than just this thread may be leaked out.

Voxist, I know you're too smart by now to give me your name, but could I have that of this douchebag you're having problems with.

My only problem with you is that I'm a bit jealous that you are still able to think so high of yourself. I don't know you, and some people really are that good, so best of luck.

yes it would suck if we found your name. and, as iceman said, we will. it's too late for you now. have a good beast, I'm sure WE'LL enjoy it. Hahahahaha.

I'm sorry for trash talking the classmate. I am taking the kid on a hike you know. And iceman, tough talk? I tough talked? I'm just making humor.

If you guys are trying to scare the crap out of me, its working. But I really don't see why all of its necessary.

Voxist: there is a lesson to be learned here: dissing a future classmate on a public forum is not the way to go. WP is all about leadership and teamwork. you will have weaker and stronger links in any team and the weak links will vary according to which team you are on. Some will be stronger physically, others academically and others on the leadership front. The rare few will be strong all around. Your job will be to support your teammates not undermine them - remember cooperate and graduate. While the upperclassmen are intimidating, their job is to see that those values are instilled in you (and your clasmates) early on.
Good luck!

Voxist, anyone one the forums can click on your name and view all your prior/future posts. Like when you posted where you were from, etc. I would get another email address and use a different screen name for all future posts if I were you

Voxist, don't worry too much about it. About this time next year the upper clansmen, woops - I ment classmen, will be so focused on their finals that they'll forget all about you for a few days.

But seriously, take this as your first lesson and don't sweat it; everybody gets hazed their first year; just try to fly under the radar as much as possible and don't hate on your fellow cadets, or at least not the ones in your own class.

And hey, at least you are man enough to admit your mistake and apologize.

Hey Voxist, I've got a son at West Point who is just finishing up his plebe year.

I looked over all of your previous posts and there's nothing there that I would be worried about. You've always been earnest and even your concern with your future classmate isn't a big deal. I'm sure more than half of the West Point cadets have felt exactly the same way about one of their own classmates at one time or another. That being said, don't make it a habit of expressing these feelings out loud.

Another thing to realize, and I hope this helps, is that some of the upper classmen like to scare the incoming plebes if they think they have a way to do it. I think that's what's happening to you. And even if they were to find out just exactly who you are, and that's very unlikely from what I've seen of your posts, only an idiot would devote any significant amount of time towards making your life hard. Cadets simply don't have the time for those kinds of activities and it runs contrary to their training as future officers and leaders. Making boneheaded mistakes before you've even graduated from high school is to be expected; cadets that bully plebes to an excessive degree are not expected and are looked down upon by their own classmen and the officers at West Point.

So the bottom line is laugh this off as the joke it is. Some of the regular posters here from West Point are having a laugh at your expense, while at the same time teaching you a very valuable lesson. Remember Voxist, UNDER the radar....
