Is it compulsory that students take all their belongings home after semester finishes? For example, when students leave for Winter Break, are we expected to take all of our stuff home, or can we leave some stuff there?

During Winter break you can leave whatever you want in your dorm, but you won’t be allowed back in till you can move in in Spring, so take whatever you will need with you.
As @SpicyRamen says, the dorms are closed over the winter break, but your stuff stays there. I would take home what you need for the break (and anything valuable, frankly).
