I’ve heard that if you’ve been invited into the Clemson Bridge program their are a limited amount of spots and it’s first come first serve. How quickly do these spots fill up? Still waiting to hear back from a couple colleges so it doesn’t make sense to pay the $750 if acceptance letters are still coming in. Any advice?
it fills up really quickly. last year it was full within five days. Last night, they were down to 230 spots. I would put down the deposit and take the loss if youre unsure what other decisions you’ll get. If you wait a few more days or weeks or months it’ll be full.
@“Shylah Coker” , my daughter is in the same boat you are in. She’s heard from every college she’s applied to but she still can’t decide if she should do bridge program. I think she’s coming to the conclusion that the bridge program might not be right for her but she’s still not 100% sure. I say go with your gut feeling… if Clemson is your first choice and it was my daughter’s also and if you think you can do well in an environment where you really aren’t living on Clemson campus, attending classes at Clemson, but can join in some of their clubs and you will have to ,I believe if you want to become involved in their environment and if the other schools you are waiting to hear from on down on your list of going to then you may want to bridge. My daughter wants to be able to rush and try out for Clemson Rally Cats Dance team and you cannot do that as a bridge student. She may not have made the team but she wanted the chance to try out. Just remember that $750.00 is non-refundable so if you change your mind that’s money lost.
^I agree with @kaylamissy , I am waiting to hear back from a few places as well, but my gut feeling is that Im going to end up taking the bridge to clemson, so I put the deposit down with the understanding that i might end up losing the money. it’s better than deciding later and no longer having the option
That’s very true @bostonloaf , that’s what we were going to do until we found out deposit was $750.00, that’s just too much money to lose if my daughter changes her mind.
Wow, 5 days!! How did you find out their down to 230 spots?
Goodness, if it was even partially refundable that would be great!
There’s one catch, my daughters major is closed to the bridge program. Nursing. She would have to enter bridge as a humanities/undeclared major. She can apply to nursing after finishing bridge but it’s not guaranteed that she’ll get into nursing. She feels forced to take the risk. Are you all familiar with the chances of successfully entering into your desired major after bridge?
@“Shylah Coker” My nephew is in the bridge now and has a friend who wanted to go into Nursing. She says that it is very difficult to transfer into Nursing. Not many students are able to bridge to nursing. That’s just what I heard. You may want to discuss chances with the Nursing Dept at Clemson.
You’re right she really needs to talk with someone asap. Thanks!!
Transferring into nursing or engineering is very difficult for students that are accepted directly into Clemson, I’m fairly certain it is difficult for Bridge students as well.
Thank you.
The spots are filling up fast, so if you want to do the Bridge To Clemson you better sign up before the end of the night. My daughter decided against it. Good Luck to everyone!
Thank you
@“Shylah Coker” , it looks like there is 65 spots remaining
Wow!!! Where do you find this info???
Facebook page “Bridge to Clemson Family” posts the updates
@“Shylah Coker” , 8 spots now. It’s on the bridge email where you make your deposit
Wow, I saw 60 spots left at 6pm on the fb page. This is crazy right!!!
My brother said they filled in less than a week!! My nephew is currently in bridge. They go fast!!
