Clemson Class of 2025 Admissions

Getting discouraged as I still haven’t heard. My brother is a junior and when he heard, it was November. Applied August 1st. OOS, Health Sciences - Health Administration. 3.8 uw/4.8 w GPA. Top 10% of very large high school (800 students in class), Two year team captain for Varsity Lacrosse, NHS, Young Men’s Service League with over 200 hours of community service. Boys State Delegate, nominated for Hugh O’Brien Outstanding Sophomore leadership seminar. Was hoping for an early Christmas present, but I guess it isn’t in the cards.

Hang in there, February isn’t that far away even though it feels like it. You still are a very strong candidate to get in.

Don’t get down on yourself. It’s still early. My daughter has similar numbers and over 2600 documented hours of volunteer hours, is on our Governor’s Youth Advisory Council, founded a non-profit, and is still waiting to hear as well. Her major of choice (nursing), and yours, are both ridiculously competitive. With tests being optional, the time needed to go through the applicant pool is much longer. Using a lax analogy, we aren’t even in the 2nd quarter yet and you are still in the game. Hang in there.

The waiting is the hardest part but don’t give up just yet. Lots of students in the same boat, waiting for a decision (my daughter included). I know it’s hard, but try not to think about it. It’ll just drive you crazy.

Thanks for your words of encouragement and good luck to your daughter too.

Does anyone know how merit works? As the weeks go by, are the chances of merit aid going down for OOS candidates?

You can use this link to estimate net price that includes merit.

What state do you live in? I wonder if they are doing batches based on regions??? I am OOS with high stats and have not heard anything. Getting worried.

CT, major= resource economics

We live in Florida

We are FL as well so maybe it is by region.

Don’t think it’s by region. My son has several friends from his high school who still haven’t heard.

Thanks for posting. Looks like top merit award is 12k this year? 2 years ago when my oldest applied he received 20k. That is quite a drop!

I live in California. Anyone from CA that’s heard?

I understand that most students won’t hear until February, but does anyone know the percentage that hear beforehand? It also seems that most who have heard submitted scores?

I was told it’s usually the high stats kids who hear first and are most likely to get scholarships.

Assuming they keep the same time-line as previous years (hard to know with covid), the NPC will be updated towards the end of January. The merit levels vary from year to year based on state/institutional budgets. For reference; the highest merit level (34+ ACT/3.85uwgpa/top 10%) for the past 3 classes:
2024: $12,000/year
2023: $20,000/year
2022: $15,000/year
Merit levels scale down in tiers based on stats.
