Clemson Honors College vs Virginia Tech

I was recently accepted off of the waitlist for the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech. I had pretty much decided the Calhoun Honors College at Clemson, but since I’m majoring in engineering, it’s hard to pass up an opportunity at a better engineering school. Clemson is in-state (much lower cost), I’d have advantages of the honors college, and I could possibly be accepted into the Eureka! program over the summer for undergraduate research before I even start college. However, Virginia Tech is a better engineering school, I have a chance at transferring into the honors college later, and I’ve been looking for an out-of-state experience (not seeing like anyone I know and being far from home). I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on either or both schools as I have a short amount of time to decide.

V-Tech is a good engineering college. So is Clemson…and you’re in the honors program. The difference is money. V-Tech is double the tuition. Sounds like a no-brainer to me. Take the in-state option.

@coolguy40 That’s pretty much what I am thinking. Price aside, do you still think Clemson Honors would be the better route?
