Below is a link for the Clemson Bridge program where you express your interest. You are supposed to put in your XID # (C12345678). I got this link off of a bridge program site from 2017-2018 year but I was wondering if it works for anyone when they type in there XID#.
Says this when i enter XID

My opinion (and my opinion only!), I would not do the Bridge Program unless Clemson was for sure your #1 choice. Like you have dreams of going there type of thing. If you could see yourself at USC too, then I think starting as a Freshman on campus in a “regular” setting, sets you up for a smoother transition into the school. USC seems like a solid school in it’s own right. Assuming cost is no different between the two of course.
I sort of disagree. I have spoken to a number of parents and a couple of bridge students (one’s a Junior at Clemson and one just graduated) and they both felt the transition to college was better without the pressure to rush, and they still felt like Clemson students. The only complaints (from the students, not the parents) was the location of housing across the lake but this is being changed for this year’s incoming class and they will live on campus at some of the best housing ironically.
@Shumdit that’s great to hear. My D is on the fence. She’s been accepted at a few other places already and still waiting on a few more. But Clemson was one of her top. I wonder if there is a way for her to connect with current bridge students to get their take. I think her biggest concern is feeling isolated or not part of Clemson life. I assume the orientation for bridge is separate from regular orientation. Do bridge students get to participate in all the freshman events??
This year’s bridge students will be housed at Lightsey Bridge and Calhoun Courts Apartments on campus.
My daughter is feeling the same…that she will be isolated from the Clemson students. I would love to get input from former Bridge students. We only have a few weeks before the $750 deposit is due…so much to consider. No sorority…no sports clubs…
@bostonTina Bridge students can be a part of all other clubs and groups and campus, including Intramural Sports (which is different from competitive club sports teams)… This year a record number of sophomores went through sorority recruitment if that helps.
A word of advice from someone who has a close friend whose son is in the Bridge program right now. Spaces filled up quickly once opened up for registration . Decisions need to be made fairly quickly or the decision will be made for your student because there will be no more availability. Next year Bridge housing will be on campus. There will be plenty of things for them to participate in even without Greek life . Good luck in the decision making process.
As far as I knew, deposits have to be in by March 1. I don’t think it’s a first come basis thing…I could be wrong. She’s very on the fence and just bummed that she didn’t get into Clemson. I will say my older daughter is in a sorority and her friends that rushed as sophomores did not have the choices she had as a freshman. Greek life is pretty prevalent at Clem. My younger daughter is also a 4 letter athlete, so the sports club thing is also a setback. I should have thought ahead and contacted coaches…just never thought she wouldn’t get right into Clem. Oh well. I know that housing is at Litesey, and they’ve said they are upgrading it…not knocking it down…but sprucing it up, which is important. I can’t say this enough…my daughter who is currently at Aspen (LOVES) was in Litesey sophomore year…NO BLUE lights, so night time is dark and scary. She would always call us when she was walking at night. They were also infested with cockroaches, huge palmettos. I made numerous calls to housing and the dean! So, hopefully the bugs are gone.
I would love some advice. We would love to see her at Clem with her big sis…but just not sure. Please send feedback!
We spoke to the Bridge director Friday at length. We asked to have a sophomore student who was a bridge student last year speak with my daughter so she could ask a ton of questions. They are speaking this week. And yes you have until March 1st to put the deposit down and if you do, you are guaranteed a spot. We were told by the Bridge director that the only 2 things they can’t do is a varsity sport or rush a sorority/fraternity. They can participate in all other Clemson activities. They can participate in freshman Kickoff week, parents weekend, etc. You would have to buy the season pass for football games but then they are guaranteed every home game and sit in the student section with rest of students.
