CLEP Exams - How do credits transfer?

Hello, I am trying to test out of my gen eds with CLEP exams. I have 18 credits already from AP exams and my school has 30 credit cap. I want to test out of Spanish with CLEP, but I don’t know if the exam is worth 3 or 6 credits.

This says the exam is worth 6: https://clep.collegeboard.org/college-credit/mercy-college-dobbs-ferry

Spanish classes count are 3 credits in my school, but would the school count the full 6 credits? If so, that means I can take less CLEP exams then I thought (I am double majoring, so I need to get rid of as many gen eds as possible before I start college next fall. Someone please explain this to me.

If you get a score of 50, Mercy College will give you 6 credits. That is like taking one year of beginning Spanish (two one semester classes). If you get a score of 66, you will get 12 credits. That is like taking one year of beginning Spanish, and a year of intermediate Spanish (four one-semester courses).
