You can read the Terms of Service for some of the reasons why a thread might be closed. What reason might apply in a particular case is NOT a subject for public discussion on the forums. If there is a particular thread you are curious about, you can contact the moderators or forum administration by private message, or better still by using the “report problem post” link on any post, which reaches the entire moderation team. In general, the “report problem post” links you will find on every College Confidential post are by far the best channel for communicating your concerns with CC management. Use those links each time and every time you have a concern about what is posted (or no longer posted) on College Confidential.

Why was the ‘I have a new game’ thread closed?

Was it getting too big? Was it obscene? Was it against the rules? Did it offend someone? Should it have been played differently? Why did it take so long? Why was there no reason given at the end of the thread? Why do the TOS not address these types of things? Is it all subjective? Why is it all subjective? Do you just not like the cc cafe? Am I thinking too much about this? Am I really not?

Just wondering…

My guess is that it was too big. CC recently put out that rule that we can’t make threads just for post count, because it uses up too much space on the server, or however else CC works. They could have deleted that thread simply because it had 36,000 replies.

Well, that thread wasn’t for post counts. We don’t even get posts for anything on the cafe, it doesn’t count towards anything.
