Did anyone see the movie Closer? I thought it was interesting, but definitely one of the strangest movies with some of the craziest/worst people I've ever seen. Any thoughts?

I thought it was really exhasuting to watch...but yes, definitely really crazy relationships going on in it.

But Jude Law was in it. :)

just saw this.

fantastic but brutal look at love, or rather, the lack of love...

the whole alice/jane thing was sort of unnecessary as was the sex chat scene (like ten minutes too long)

Jude Law and Julia Roberts...terrible characters but only one of them got what they deserved...I loved Natalie Portman and Clive Owen

i'm planning on seeing it. is it worth watching?

it's not a movie you can like or dislike...because it's pretty raw

there's this scene where Clive Owen is like frigging grilling Julia Roberts with these brutal questions...

i'd say it is worth seeing

Okay, I'll take your advice and see it! Thanks :)

I found the dialogue a little too pretentious and melodramatic to take seriously. The acting is top-notch though, especially Clive Owen (who gives one of the most HAUNTING performances I can ever remember seeing). It was originally a play and probably worked better as one.

Nonetheless, it's interesting and not typical Hollywood garbage. Maybe more worth a rental, but definitely a viewing.

Clive Owen was amazing. As was Natalie Portman, as usual. Law/Roberts were good, but not as strong as the other two.

The sex chat scene was hilarious, and the scene where Owen grills Roberts is worth the whole movie. There's a lot of implied time lapses, though. And you might get bored at times because it's all dialogue. But it's definetely worth seeing.

Thanks for the opinions. I just saw the movie today and it was good; better than I expected. It was different than other movies, but definetely worth seeing! Thanks!!

I heard the movie was nominated for 5 Golden Globe Awards. I was very impressed

although I never knew about the movie until now. That was usually the case for great

movies. There not overly advertised like other hollywood junk and were usually shown

in selected theatres.
