Clothing brands

h&m and ralph lauren make totally diff stuff for totally diff clientele
h&m caters to the trendy teen/young adult.
ralph lauren caters to the more upper-class preppy look.

you can't really compare the two....

plus for the the most part ralph lauren is better quality clothing than h&m. which completely makes sense. h&m carries trendy clothes, most of which come and go quickly and people wouldnt want to wear after a year or so, which works since the clothes probably wouldnt last for more than a couple of years. ralph lauren on the other hand carries more classic clothes, most of which can be worn for...ever, and thus makes quality clothes that last a long time.

that being said, I definitely shop wayyyy more at h&m than ralph lauren.
in fact, I don't think I own anything ralph lauren, haha

I like jcrew for quality basics =)
although, I can't afford them either
gotta love the sales

I wear anything that costs under $20 and that is comfortable and will last. I don't really care what it brand it is as long as it doesn't have like a huge name brand across it.

I know one time a friend gave me a pair of shoes that didn't fit her and they fit me. I wore them to school and I got bugged all day by my other friends telling me they'd kill me if I colored them. (I have a habit of coloring my shoes with sharpies when I get bored-- my last pair was green and pink on one side, orange and blue on the other; then random colors on the other shoe.) I didn't know they were apparently some really expensive shoe brand or whatever. Still don't know what the big deal is, but I stick with my colored shoes, they make me smile when people ask about them.

My jeans all come from New York and Company because they're the only ones that ever fit me :(.

I get the clearance rack anywhere else. My shirts come from Kohl's, K-Mart, Target, etc. The only name brand stuff I have is simply because it happened to be on sale at Plato's Closet.

I do have some Hot Topic stuff because that's what people give me for presents. The only thing I've ever bought from there is this really cute black handcuffs miniskirt.

My shoes come from Payless lol.

I've become a Banana Republic maniac over this summer for some reason. I used to get all my clothes at Kohl's, but since I started college shopping at the mall, I've never failed to buy something from BR each time.

I need to find a pair of plaid shorts that is mainly white with non-pukey colored stripes (not moss green or puke brown/yellow or fruit punch red). Anyone know where I can find one like that?

i wear pretty much anything really. i dont really from one particular brand but a lot of the clothes that i wear ive noticed are from target or old navy lol
as for shoes, i usually wear converse or vans

Everytime I go by a Banana Republic I have to turn my head and walk away, because if I go in, I'll buy a lot. :\ lol.

for me, A+F, hollister, Victoria's secret, or whatever that fits. i tend to buy things when they'r on sale. lol

Hugo Boss, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Gucci, occasionally Burberry, Bvlgari, and Juicy Couture.

Holister, Abercrombie and Fitch, and American Eagle are anathemas to good taste, quality, and value.

One could find more fashionable and better priced clothing at Old Navy.

^^ I'll be watching out for the Burberry-loving chav this year. =)

oh man #48...what a post. one of the best i've read on CC so far i think...and...uh...nvm

"^^ I'll be watching out for the Burberry-loving chav this year. =)"

I thought chavs were only in Britain? Perhaps he should lay off the Novacheck and focus on subtlety though...:P

The majority of my clothes come from Target, New York & Company, and The Gap. I'm starting to lean towards Puma now too, but only when they have sales. Occasionally I'll get some other brands at Marshalls since their stuff is so cheap for the same quality stuff, it might just be a season or so behind.

I wear Polo Ralph Lauren, LaCoste, Nautica, Brooks Brothers, Burberry, Joseph Banks, Dockers, Armani and American Eagle.

Diesel Jeans & shoes (when I can get 'em at a good price)
Banana Republic
Certain A&F stuff (not the overly outlandish stuff)
North Face
Whatever looks decent + not too much money

^I agree with the fifth one haha

I don’t have a specific brand that I buy. As long as I’m content with the price and quality, I wear it.

North Face
Quiksilver
Adidas (I <3 my adi dragons…best shoes ever)

I love H&M
Anthropologie (or at least looking around without buying anything)

Shopruche.com
Target-----Rodarte for Target on Dec 20:) wooooot
–so not really brands per se, just places I enjoy (window)shopping at

I don’t really have specific brands, because I have my own style that is independent of brands, but I do find myself finding stuff at Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Marshalls’/TJ Maxx/Ross, and New York and Company, along with random smatterings from other unexpected stores. I would like to start shopping at thrift/vintage stores, but the local ones in my town are full of cast-offs rather than actual cool finds. I do love windowshopping at Modcloth/Anthropologie though :3

@middsmith: Some guy actually made his whole condo Burberryified, on the outside! Chavtastic!

JCrew, Polo, H&M, Lacoste and Express are my primary places to shop. I have a few cheap items for aero, hollister, gap, etc. but not too much.

Warm day: Forever 21 shirt, skinny jeans, a pair of flats.
Cold day: sweater, skinny jeans, a pair of flats.
i usually sport dangle-y earrings and some glitter on my cheeks.

ehehe i’m pretty girly.
