also to samurki-Agreed, live in NH too, do everything headlinenewsrox said. Also, it’s ok to bring some more summery clothes, because in August/September and May/June you’ll be warm. Also, definitely bring them if you’ll be here over the summer. Have a decent selection of clothes that will work for fall weather, as they can make great layers, which is key! And yes, definitely invest in a good winter coat!

I would say that doing laundry once every two weeks is a reasonable goal. Drying racks save money because you don’t have to pay for the dryer. Before you leave, pack a box or two of warm clothes to have your parents send you when the temperature starts to drop.

Students who choose to go Greek are often going to be given dress codes…like wear your formals to class on sunday, polos on certain days, and other certain days are “free days.” You can look at it as restricting or you can look at it as helpful when it comes to the popular dilemma of which clothes to bring, which is how I see it.

Of course you’re going to want to look your best. Polos, nice shirts, your best t-shirts, etc.

I packed WAY TOO MUCH clothing for my freshman year. I realized its real easy to get up (esp after a rough night out) and just throw on a white polo. By the end of the year I had some nice crisp polos and 3 pairs of jeans. That’s really all you need.

Like I always say, its not what who wears. but who wears what.
(i.e. nothing will make up for ugliness, and vise versa). lol

I’ll bring a lot of clothes and shoes because i have and wear a lot of clothes, and i never pack light.

i bought some wonder hangers though that should save me closet space

Huh? I’ve replayed that in my mind over and over…and it still makes no sense whatsoever.

I think he’s basically trying to say that if you’re ugly, cute clothes won’t help lol…So it doesn’t really matter what you wear.

But I disagree, I like dressing nice and having my own style.

haha lets see if oscucowboys gets it with the stresses:
“its now WHAT who wears, but WHO wears what.”

but yea. and we all know (i hope) that girls dress up for other GIRLS. yup, they don’t dress nicely for guys. girls are competitive, and they want to be the ‘hottest’ girl in the place, so they go all pretty and give each other the 'bitch look to fend off the competition.
yea yea its a bit offtopic, but so true.

and btw its so funny to see their reaction when you tell ^that to them. their like “■■■■ how did u know”.

Honestly I couldn’t tell you what my girl friends were wearing if i had looked at them 5 minutes before that. It’s just not something most guys notice…unless its obviously skanky or something along those lines.

Is it seriously like that at some schools? I would hate that. At my school it’s just “dress to pin” which means dress nice on Tuesdays, which isn’t even really required, but encouraged. And then we can choose to wear letter shirts on Friday if we want. But that’s it.

I signed with Sigma Nu at OSU and got a lengthy dress code, most of which is stuff I already own. I have to have 10 Ralph Lauren polos, a Brooks Brothers suit, and I have to have an article of clothing from each of the following stores: Express, Vineyard Vines, JCrew, Armani, Lacoste, Puma, and Banana Republic.

It doesn’t specify if it has to be a t-shirt, shorts, or whatever. I have to wonder if this stuff isn’t meant to discourage the Okies from getting in since I don’t think you can buy any of it in Oklahoma unless there’s a really upscale mall I didn’t know about it.

And I agree with BMWdude, now that I understand what he was trying to articulate…

Look at winter break as a chance to move out off season clothes, and get new clothes
