Club that bombed

I founded a volunteering club in 11th grade, but unfortunately, it went under, since kids at my school don't get involved that much so we didn't have many members. I took the initiative, so I wasn't sure if I should put it on college apps or not, because I wanted the club to succeed and tried my hardest, and in the end the sponsor decided to end it, not me. Any advice is appreciated!

I would put it down, not everything works all the time, and sometimes effort is just as important as end result

Yes, put it down. It also may make a good essay subject because I'm sure you learned a lot as a result of that experience.

Thank you both, and I never even thought about writing about it! I definitely learned a lot from it, both good and bad.

well, how long did the club actually last. How many meetings did you have, and did the club do any volunteer efforts at all? Or did it fold even as it opened.
No doubt you did a lot of groundwork to find a teacher/sponsor, make a charter, spread the word etc. But just wondering if the club was functional......
It's frustrating when you put in all that effort and others are too busy, or its not their thing like not an "exciting" activity. I feel for you.

The club lasted a year, we had about one meeting a month, and we managed to do about three events before it went under at the end of the year. I tried to keep it going as long as I could, but eventually my sponsor couldn't spend her time working on it anymore so she had to shut it down.

Hey, that sounds pretty good to me. I would be very proud of myself for achieving that much. Just starting the club itself is a huge initiative, and then organizing 3 volunteer efforts is no easy feat, on top of that. Congratulations.
