Starting club senior year?

I've been in FBLA and SGA all of high school.
But at the end of Junior year (due to an off junior year, got a bit materialistic and electronic addicted) I wasn't selected to be vice president of SGA, I also wasn't selected for any position at all (there was like 11 of them) even though I was treasurer this year.

But to be honest I re-ran for office only because my friend wanted me to.
My heart was never in any club I've done. There were no clubs that suited me at school, so I just did clubs for college. But I found out that I love writing, so I tried to find a way how I can use that talent to better myself and my peers.

Then I thought about something. Every story or poem I've ever written and gave to my friends were never read. Even my english teacher didn't have time to read my work, my own Mom doesn't even have the time sometimes.

So I thought of a way how I could get my and others stories read and proofread by other students . That way my writing and other's writing gets improved and they become overall better writers. That's when I came up with the writer's club idea.

It will be all blog with maybe 1 meeting every now and then. I will probably post volunteer hour possibilities on the blog too.I already got my english teacher to sponsor it and the principle loves the idea.

My problem with all of this is though, will colleges (especially very competitive colleges) see this as a ploy to smoozy my transcript up at the last second?

Not in your case, which is legit, but founding clubs senior year reeks of transcript padding.
Again, not in your particular situation.

@Batllo
Thank you man.

Yeah I am not using it for padding. I just want to do something for my school before I leave.

Just hope people don’t jack your stuff and try to pass it off as theirs if you post on an open blog.
Try to secure the original work.

@Batlo

How do I do that. Like get it copyrighted?
