Club vs School SPORTS

Most of the teachers who I’ve talked to have said that colleges won’t differentiate between club and school soccer(For example). Is this true?

Any advice or views, from experience or word of mouth, would be appreciated.

by "club", you mean the highly competitive independent teams outside of school? or do you mean like intramural sports within your own school?

The highly competitive independent teams outside of school.

dude.

if you have a question, that's fine. but don't post it in every other ivy league forum.

im pretty sure the colleges could care less whether its club soccer or school team soccer, since both are pretty much the same thing.

^^ there not the same thing lol....i responded to this same thread in the yale forum...so you can take a look at my response there

^ well it can or cannot be the same thing. some club teams are really good and practice all the time, but some aren't so good, just like there are some really great school teams along with some horrible ones where you just show up and your on the team. so i guess it just depends on your level of involvement.

One more quick question, are letters of recommendation from my "Club" coach any less valuable then, let's say, my science teacher's?

Colleges want to see recs from teachers in academic subjects.

Decisions, you are a high school freshman. You SHOULD NOT be worrying now about who your college recs come from. Take the hardest course load you can, do the activities you love to do because you love them and NOT because they'll get you into a college, and go have fun.

Yah I know, but I have some junior friends(From soccer), and they were wondering.
