W 4.8

It’s not clear at all what it takes to get a McKenna Scholarship or get in the Seaver Scholarship pool.

We are in a similar boat @jmdpdheieio. My son got in. Recruited athlete. No merit offered. :frowning: Exploring other options, including gofundme page.

good luck.

I guess the 3 of our kids are in the same boat
Recruited athlete, excellent academics and no merit offered
Great question, who gets chosen for the merit scholarships? Good Luck!

Well, congrats anyway to both your kids. Just getting into CMC is a huge accomplishment!

That being said, we are moving on to plan B. We’ll have the conversation tomorrow with admissions to get out of our ED contract.

We were in your same shoes five years ago. Bit the bullet and ended up paying full freight for a kid who had nearly perfect academic stats and was ranked in the top 100 in the nation for his sport. It ended up well, as he won a prestigious national award and is very well employed six months post graduation in a job he loves.

Did anyone get in without doing the video or interview?

Currently a merit student at cmc. Don’t think too much about the aid. it’s worth it to come here without it. I don’t know too many ED merit students though

Let me know if you want more details about what they might want in merit. Mostly about leadership with an emphasis on grades as a qualifier

Hello CMC 2024 Parents,

What are your thoughts around COVID 19 situation? Are you all hoping and confident that schools will be open by EOM August? Are you all talking to CMC? Making any alternative plans, if its all going to be online? Especially around paying full tuition.

Any dialogue or thoughts welcome.

Please stay safe and Stay healthy.

Concerned admitted student parent.

I am wondering the same thing. The deadline to request a deferral is May 11 (coming up very soon) and the form is vague as to the valid reasons permitted.

Has anyone spoken with CMC to learn more about the deferral process? If our freshman have to study online the first semester (or 2) they won’t be getting the same experience, orientation, ability to make friends, and other standards of the expected college education.

Would love to hear what other parents think and know about deferring starting at CMC.

Thanks.

Did you get accepted?
