CMC VS U of Chicago VS Carleton

major in Econ and Political Science
And I want to do international business in the future.
How do you guys rank them ??

Um, I guess CMC sounds like the best fit for you based on the minimal information you have provided here. Lots of econ/political types there, less academically-focused that Carleton or U of C.

yep, that's what my advisor told me, she said CMC->Carleton->U of Chicago...

CMC is so very different a place than either Carleton or U Chicago - it is the consummate pre-professional school. The student body there has a significant (uniquely so) preponderance of self-selected future lawyers and businessmen/women. The vast majority major in econ, gov't and business (where their departments are quite strong) or other social sciences. Just a smattering make use of the Keck Science Center (joint with Scripps and Pitzer). The school admits with a careful eye to "leadership" skills demonstrated in H.S. (lots of class presidents, mock trialers and debaters) and that helps define the student body. Not surprisingly, the faculty and student body tend to be more conservative than the rest of the Claremonts. The school will definitely prepare you well for the future career you describe. Just make sure the fit is right for you.

Very different atmosphere at CMC than Carleton or U of C. U of C also has a very specific approach to econ, so consider that. There is also more open partying at CMC than Carleton or U of C. Other than that, there is a "Carleton versus UChicago" thread somewhere that goes into more specific differences between the two schools.
CMC has a great government department, I highly recommend it (speaking from experience).

yep, I kinda put CMC in my top choice now.

no... I realize I should go to Chicago or Carleton, not CMC.

There were bundle of folk who chose to attend Carleton when faced with the alternate choice of UChicago... You should join us. Word.

sonic v ... between April 18 and May 11, wshat happened to change your mind? It sure seemed like you were headed to CMC in mid-April.

talk with more people, and get to know more information. plus I'm in Minnesota, I don't wanna go too far away. I think Carleton is as good as CMC, if not better, and I have visited there and I really like the place. For Chicago, just most people tells me it's the best...
