Cmcl-122

Hi everyone,

I was taking continuing study courses from IU Bloomington, but they ended their program- now I am enrolled at IU East.
Does anyone have experience with CMCL-122? I do not know what to expect- it is an online course and not sure how the format will be.
I only have 4 classes left until I graduate! Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thx!

Is the online course offered through IUB or IU East? It doesn’t matter really, but I am curious. I recently finished a graduate level program through IUB online. Much of what happens online will depend upon the faculty.

My courses were project based with no exams. (remember these were grad level classes) With the exception of one, all involved working with a group or partner. Some classes had regularly scheduled class meetings via Adobe Connect (IU’s version of Adobe Breeze) which is similar to Skype. I would be surprised if you don’t have to participate in a weekly online discussion forum (not live). A couple of classes had videos we had to watch weekly.

Reading assignments were like any class.

My best advice is to keep up with assignments and readings. Those deadlines come up quickly. Take advantage of any online office hours with the faculty. OnCourse will become a regularly visited website for you. Online courses are not necessarily more difficult, but they do require commitment to learning in a different way.

rrah-
Thanks for your response. This particular course is offered through IU East.

The other courses I was taking through IU B were distance learning- so I didn’t really have due dates for assignments- hoping this will not be too difficult!
