<p>CMU did pretty well in other fields too. In addition to being ranked # 1 in CS, I believe it came second in both operations research, information systems and cognitive psychology. It also ranked # 3 in logic and #6 in overall engineering. Among the engineering specialties, CMU ranked # 7 in both electrical engineering and environmental engineering, and # 10 in civil engineering. Statistics ranked #9 and discrete math/combinatorics also made to the top 10. Several other graduate programs ranked in the top 20 group (other engineering specialties, economics, Tepper’s overall MBA program, etc.).</p>
<p>Washington is at #5, where DS works, CS-robotics. I wonder since DS grad CMU, BS ME/HCI (CS) '06, affected both schools? :)</p>
<p>BTW, outside the tech areas, CMU was also ranked top 10 for its graduate programs in Fine Arts and Public Affairs (Heinz School).</p>
