Are AP/EA early action admits counted as ED or RD for financial aid purposes? In other words, does CMU guarrantee to meet full need for EA?

Yes. That’s what they said for ED.

I know they meet full need for ED, but what about EA? Did anyone attend the precollege program, apply EA, and get financial aid?

I don’t think CMU has an EA option, just two ED deadlines. If they do, I’m not aware of it…

I cannot be sure if the EA option is still available. If it is you have to go through the summer program and apply and you will get the decision earlier than ED. You do not have to commit until May 1. You are permitted to apply to other colleges (unlike ED). I would expect CMU to handle FA as a normal applicant since EA is not a binding admission. CMU as far as I can remember will only meet expected need for ED applicants.

Thanks Bossr - i think youre probably right…
