CNA/ EMT Certification

I know a lot of individuals who are PRE-MED who are getting certification in becoming a Nursing Aide or EMT techinican with hopes of gaining valuable clinical experience. I was wondering will someone who is a CNA/ EMT technican who worked at a hopsital will be viewed more valuable than an individual who shadowed a few doctors here and there in terms of clinical experience?

a lot of people get the license, but how many really use it? There is no real "value" in any one EC, it's what you learn from it. There are many people who have tons of EC's, but you have to be able to show how the experiences helped you choose medicine. As to your question, shadowing is FINE as an EC! Don't just get an EMT because all the other kids are becoming one. If you really want to do it, then do it. Otherwise, there are other ways to get clinical experience

Thanks, I was just asking the question because I saw that certain trend.
