Please help me out guys!

Im a rising high school senior and was wondering taking up an EMT course (and becoming EMT certified) because it looks good to have it on application especially if you have it for BS/MD programs. Do you guys think it will significantly increase my chances to accel. med programs?

And if i did get EMT certification, how would i get experience?

Also, you should know that it takes $680 to pay for the course to become EMT certified; so i really need to know if becoming certified is really worth it.

Just getting the certification won’t be of much use, you’ll need to get experience with it for it to be valuable (and worth it). Don’t do it just because it looks good as there are many other ways to show your interest in the medical field that doesn’t cost nearly as much, if anything at all. A lot of EMT’s are volunteers in different areas and sometimes it’s useful when applying to certain jobs in hospitals, nursing homes, etc. along with CNA certification.
