I would like to know where can I find pictures of how the bathroom is like. Is there shower curtains or proper cubicles? Thanks!

cubicles, lock, etc

Hahah, the good old bathroom door graffiti. I was hoping for the floor plan of the bathroom kinda thing though.

Thanks, crowslayer91! That’s a relief. I thought it’ll be shower curtains and all. >.< Is the water heated?

Yes, water is always heated…are you international by any chance?
It is a given here ( as cold water is just too cold :))

Yes I am international. Oh God, is it obvious? Hahah. Just very curious on how the bathroom life in dorms are like. Because I, personally, like to have enough privacy and take my time when I shower but suites are too expensive so I opted for double in Units.

Pictures with people or without…?

Without or with is fine. I just want to see how it’s like.

Hey, I’ve lived in a couple of university (not Berkeley) dorms for summer programs, and the shower water wasn’t necessarily heated some of the time. :P

Oh no! How will we survive during winter? Haha. How is winter at Cal like btw?

Do you guys have one of those 2016 facebook or yahoo group. Maybe one of the 2016’er can point it here, where you can connect with other students about same questions.

You can refer here [New Students | Berkeley International Office](New Students | Berkeley International Office)
I am sure they have an international rep to answer question, just email them as well.

Yes, hot showers aren’t a problem (@energize is an exception maybe summer in east coast is very hot and humid or something wasn’t working right in which case a complaint to RA would fix it), Berkeley is cold if you are used to Asia (not sure which country you are from). But you don’t need any snow jackets. It is mild summer and rainy winters.

The co-ed bathrooms are 100% private. Each floor has around 3-5 restroom stalls (they’re all cubicle like; trust me, they are very secure so don’t worry about privacy!). All the shower stalls are somewhat cubicle as well, but they do have a door with lock (inside you have a curtain).

I was a bit uncomfortable at first about the idea, but the layout shouldn’t be a problem for you!
