I really want to get a Co-Op experience, but I was wondering if it is not hard to be accepted as long as you have good GPA(mine is 3.55 as Chem. E), good interview and good essay responses.
Some advices?

If the school only shows you the opportunities but makes you apply for them normally, it probably won’t be easy. For this summer, in chemical engineering, I applied to 20-25 internships and got 2 interviews and 1 offer. That’s with a very high GPA, a few summers of retail, and some research experience. Others have applied to way more and been less lucky.
If the school helps you apply or guarantees you a position it might be easier.
The opportunities will vary by school.
It also depends on what caliber of internship you’re applying to. If you’re applying to research positions in your first 1-2 years it will be hard. However, if you’re content with being an assistant or something less exciting for your first co op you’ll have an easier time.
