are the girls/guys there cute?

1) Very social. Lots of international students. Lots of fobs.

2) No. Don't know about the guys, I'm not gay.

1) Very social. Lots of international students. Lots of fobs.

2) Girls are alright. Mostly fobs.

but are the international/fobs there arent as cute as americans?

any other feedback about the co-ops since people here dont wanna describe the peoples attractiveness there?

lol. can you read what you're writing? Doesn't help you get responses to put out blanket statements and watch the etiquette.

Co-op is definitely cheap. food is not great, and the living arrangements aren't luxury either. But it's cheap and you'll meet a different group of people from your standard jaunts.

is it a good way to meet UCLA students? and find dates?

^^^ in other words, what are the changes of fornicating with other co-ops?

Hey, I'm actually considering living in Co-op next year. I'm in a hall right now and I think it's not worth the money in many many aspects. Also, I'm an international student, so maybe that's more of a 'fit' for me? Deadline for next year's housing registration is coming up, so I'm weighing the cons and pros. Does anyone who actually lives in a co-op have anything to say about co-ops?

"in other words, what are the changes of fornicating with other co-ops?"

yes

I would just submit the $30 fee for housing, to make sure I have a spot next year. And then do whatever I needed to do to figure out the co-op.

If you're fine with potentially living with bedbugs, crappy food, 4 hours of weekly chores, and sharing 2 bathroom stalls with 11-12 other people, then it's okay.

The bedrooms are pretty run down and small .... bathrooms are smaller than you expect ... the only #1 reason you would want to live here is for the cheap rent.

I'm living in a co-op, here's my point of view:

Advantages:
- Cheap
- You'll meet a lot of people very easily
- No need to cook for yourself
- A lot of internationals, you'll learn a great deal about other cultures (only if you want to)
- Always something to do if you're willing to socialize
- You get used to the disadvantages and once you're out you're ready to appreciate what you've got ; )

Disadvantages:
- Small rooms (not necessarily true for all rooms, mine is kind of big b/c I've lived here for a while and got a nice one).
- Shared bathrooms, not with 11-12 like purpleube said though. I'm sharing 2 BRs with 4 other people.
- 4 hours weekly chores
- Food can be pretty ****ty on some days, some days are just fine. However, with the money you save you can easily go out and buy something on bad days ; )

Personally I like it here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

It's like everywhere, some are cute, some aren't. I strongly advise against dating within a co-op though ; ) It's gonna be trouble after breaking up.

I'm living in HHH on 500 Landfair Ave and I am sharing 2 bathroom stalls with 12 other people (and one of them has a broken lock. as a female I can say it's not very fun when other male co-opers try to force their way into the bathroom while I'm using it). It's one of the major things I dislike about this place since it can be hard to find a free bathroom in the mornings. So beware if you apply to live here (yes, I'd like to actively discourage people from applying to live here so it will be less crowded! It was so much nicer in the winter break because most people were on vacation, and only 2 other people were in my hallway sharing these bathrooms).

Well, as everything here, it depends on what hallway/room you are living in. I am and have been living at the same place as your for two years and NEVER had the problem with the BRs you described. Not once in two years did I have to wait to get into a BR.

Hmm. What direction does your room face? Mine faces the northwest, and I've been in the same hallway since I moved in. If there are hallways in HHH with a better bathroom situation, I'd like to find out so I can convince my roommate to bump with me in winter bump. This hallway has a persistent bedbug problem too...

I guess you're having really bad luck w/ your BR... I've lived in 4 different hallways/rooms (all in HHH) and never had a problem like that. My room is X16 (similar or same on most floors). In the hallway there are 2BRs, one single room, one suite room, and one double room, so 5 people total. Same applies to the opposite (symmetrical) site of the floor I think.

ive lived in coop for over 2 years now...other than the food it's an alright place to live. Im spending around $4500 for the whole school year living in a double room. Where else in Westwood can you get this kind of deal? About the bed bugs..Ive lived in three different rooms and have never experienced that problem. The coop has three different buildings and they vary. I would say Robinson is the best. About the bathrooms, the thing about standing in lines to use the bathroom is a huge exaggeration. I have never had any problems using the bathrooms and 99% of the time I have found them to be free almost any time of the day.

I never have any problems waiting to use the bathroom or taking a shower.
Food's definitely not bad; it ranges from "meh" to "yummy!" There's very few times when you go "yuck"
