Co-ops?

Hey, so I'm considering applying to live in a co-op next year, but I don't know much about the actual application process. When does the application for next fall open up? And if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

You can apply any time…offers start coming out in April.

Check the website yet? bsc.coop

Thank you!

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for the best coops? I know it’s all a matter of opinion and what’s the best fit for each individual, but any help is nice. I’m looking for one that’s maybe a little quieter than Castro, for instance, but I don’t want to be in a super quiet one either. Right now I’m considering Ridge? or maybe Davis? Let me know! :D

I haven’t lived in a co-op either, but they vary GREATLY. Go on some tours (official or unofficial - you can set one up by e-mailing the house manager or just showing up) or hang out with them at dinner.

I was planning on trying a small to midsized one…but was pleasantly surprised by Cloyne Court. It’s like the second biggest one, but it seemed cleaner than some and had lots of room to walk around…unlike others.

I think Ridge hosts a decent amount of parties…the day I toured, their living room was…heh. And they’re holding a Halloween one. Southside ones are generally louder than the Northside ones though.
