There are some schools I'm looking into with coed bathrooms. For those who have had that situation, how is it? Is it strange or is it not at all different than single sex bathrooms?

I don't think it's strange. In my dorm, the co-ed bathrooms are suite bathrooms, so I'm very close to the three guys and two other girls I share a bathroom with.

I mean, nobody walks around naked, if that's what you mean. :)

Bathroom and shower rooms are sometimes different. At present I share a one toilet/sink large room w/ 3 females, I being the only male. We all have sinks in our rooms, we have no problems sharing and the shower rooms are down the hall.......no problem there either. After a week or two foks determine who is around when, it all works not a problem for me in all of my time sharing.

To some it is awkward. To others, it is a nonissue after a few days or uses. Usually, schools have housing options that accomodate single sex floors, buildings, or bathrooms. Check into it at each school.

its not a big deal at all, though it takes a couple of days to get used to! nobody walks around naked in a single sex bathroom, therefore no one walks around naked in a coed bathroom. the showers at my school had regular bathroom door stalls and a curtain over the shower. just bring a bathrobe or change of clothes with you to walk back to your room. also, everyone is on such different schedules, you'll rarely see anyone in the bathrooms at all!
