I'm really interested in cognitve science, and was wondering if anybody would be able to tell me about the program at Rice, I'd probably want to concentrate in neuroscience. Also I'm wondering how the research opportunities are for neuroscience seeing as they don't have a major for that. Thanks a bunch!

Your interest is the same as mine! I am an international student applying to Rice this fall.
I also want to pursue a further study of neuroscience and psychology.
I attended the rice online chat yesterday and I asked the AOs about this problem. One of the AOs responded to me that I could possibly consider the psychology department and take some special courses on neuroscience.
Research opportunities do counts. I’m wondering whether someone could tell me something about that aspect of the psychology department. Hope someone in that department could inform us.

I am currently a senior, psych/cog sci double major focusing in neuroscience. While there aren’t a whole lot of neuroscience classes offered at Rice, we are allowed to take graduate level classes from Baylor and UT. Also, the med center is a great place to find neuroscience research opportunities and that is what many interested in the field do. For more info on neuroscience at Rice look into the BRAiN club that was recently started, I don’t have a link but basically it is a club that helps students interested in neuroscience find opportunities to study it. Hope this helps.
