Hey
Anyone here majoring in Cognitive Sciences, who can give me some information on the program?

I'm prospective Bioengineering major right now (I've been accepted to Rice Early) but after really looking into engineering over the break & talking to some people who are/were Bioeng, I dont think its really for me. I never saw myself as a engineering type of person, but my dad (an engineer -_-) kind of talked me into it. Plus I'm going to be pre-Med so I need my GPA to stay up.
I really enjoyed Psychology this past semester esp the neurological parts, so Cognitive Sciences' neuroscience really caught my eye.

Anyways... I looked on the Rice website but it would nice to hear someone who is actually in the program. Thanks!

Hey, I'm a pre-med freshman at Rice majoring in Cognitive Sciences. I've really enjoyed the courses I've taken so far in the major (I took three last semester) and can't wait to start taking the neuroscience courses, which are taught at Baylor College of Medicine. If you haven't been there already, the General Announcements is a good place to learn a little more about the major: http://www.rice.edu/catalog/2004_2005/departments.html

Just click on "Cognitive Sciences" and you should be good to go! I've only been at Rice for a semester, but let me know if you have any specific questions about the major, and I'll try my best to answer them.

yeah..she got to you before i could..

i was going to tell you: talk to twinklestar, she's a cs major. hehe

i will be a science premed major too next fall!
