15.6%
Puts the yield at 28.6%.
“This year’s admitted student cohort is the most academically competitive and broadly diverse in Colby’s history. It includes applicants from 49 states, the District of Columbia, and more than 50 countries. A total of 1,750 students were admitted from an applicant pool of 11,190. With an acceptance rate of 16 percent, Colby remains among the most selective liberal arts colleges in the country.”
Of course, the actual yield for the class of 2021 hasn’t been determined yet – just because 500 of the 1750 students who were admitted signed up for the Admitted Students program doesn’t mean that all of them will choose Colby, and there may be others who will choose Colby without having attended the Admitted Students program (i.e., live too far away, have a schedule confilct, or whatever). My impression is that the target class size is a bit less than 500 in any case (the number 480 seems familiar).
It’s coincidental that 500 have signed up for ASP, and 500 is the assumed target size for the class of 2021.
I was going on the following: Colby had been listed at 1850 total students for years, but everything available online now lists 2000 total with posted incoming classes of 500. (no idea where they found those extra beds, or if the trend is for more to live off campus)
So if you want to use 480, that puts the yield at 27.4%.
The class size has been 500 for the last few years.
Colby is investing into downtown Waterville including a mixed use development which will house 200 students in Fall of 2018.

This may help explain the expanded enrollment targets.
