Congratulations @2Skywalkercn.! I hope our Colby kids meet one another…We had only visited 3 weeks ago and enjoyed everything about the whole college and Waterville community.
@ohhibuddy…I have seen similar posts as yours. I don’t think that the admissions office would mind an email or direct phone call by now. Having met several of the staff, we found them to be most kind and accommodating.
Any news on the Colby 2023 waitlist? Getting anxious.
@ohhibuddy my daugther received admission package by courier week ago including I-20 form, perhaps you can check with admission office again.
@yasyasyas , if you look at the thread below on acceptances, it looks like they ended up with about 16 more students than they were aiming for. There is likely to be a little melt as kids come off WL at other schools, but I would be surprised if there is a lot of activity. I am not an insider, so I am just stringing together what I am seeing. Official communications from the school are definitely more reliable!
likewise, getting nervous as time goes by. The chance of getting off of the waitlist decreases for me because I’m an international students. I read it somewhere that over 1000 students were on the waitlist and only 4 got in.
But no one has heard anything about waitlist movement?
Quote Colby on May 8th, “Currently we are in a holding pattern to see how many spots might open up over the next few weeks due to the waitlist activity at other colleges, or students deciding to take a gap year. A few additional offers may be made at that time.” I guess “a few” offer means that they are not optimistic about the number of students getting off of the waitlist. But I do want to know in what time range did Colby announce the waitlist decision over the past few years.
Past years don’t matter. I know a couple years ago, they needed to add students starting May 1 becausethey ended up under the target #on May 1.
That note suggests they are slightly over enrolled and will go to the WL only if a certain # of students who have deposited take WL offers from other schools or do gap years. In other words, summer melt. That timing is not in their control.
I emailed about the waitlist, admissions office said they’re in a “holding period” to see if students took waitlist offers elsewhere or want to take gap years. Sounds like they don’t have space as it is now though.
Anyone get in off the waitlist?
A few did according to the wl manager’s response.
