@OGKushadmit2020 that made my day thank you
Rejected. 33 ACT, 3.63 GPA. Also rejected from Oberlin and received a bad FA package from my top choice today, so this is kinda rough.
Accepted with a 1980 SAT and a 100.89 GPA (W). For those of you waitlisted or rejected: you will get in somewhere. I was waitlisted at Bowdoin, Middlebury, and Wesleyan and rejected at Williams beforehand. It’s all a numbers game, so just because one didn’t accept you doesn’t mean another won’t. These selective colleges are looking for a specific combination of achievements, so do not take it personally if you don’t get into one of them.
Also, for those of you wondering, I don’t think interest is heavily weighted for Colby. I toured campus and visited two informational sessions, but I did not interview with Colby and I did not send any supplemental materials after submitting my application, but I got in. There are other schools I applied to that I demonstrated much more interest in (not to say that I’m not interested in Colby, I’m absolutely psyched that I got into one of my top schools) and I was waitlisted. It’s all a crapshoot.
Rejected with 32 ACT and 4.3 GPA , class officer, tons of extra curricular! but its FINE
Accepted! 34 ACT, 4.0 unweighted/5.0 weighted GPA, student council vice president, variety of clubs etc etc.
Congrats to all others who were accepted!
Quick question though, the FAQ says that the financial aid package was sent out with the decision but I’ve been unable to find it anywhere. Anyone else have this problem/know how to fix it? Thanks.
Help! I can’t seem to access my decision on the portal, it just looks normal with no updates. Anyone else having this issue? I am currently studying abroad right now, do you think that might affect it? I am a little worried it’s a bad sign…
@tom1997 - No package for S with acceptance either but people are reporting issues with the portal so maybe they’re trying to fix that.
@tom1997 @otterma I believe it’s going to arrive in the mail with the official acceptance letter. Should be in your box by April 1.
@Otterma yeah I think the link is just broken, I guess a bit more waiting can’t hurt lol. thanks
Waitlisted
It keeps telling me to try again later.
Accepted (my son), with a 35 ACT, 2290 SAT, 4.0 UW
Waitlisted, 4.0 GPA, 2040 SAT, requested an interview and never heard back, other than that no demonstrated interest. Just got waitlisted from Boston College a few days ago sooo that’s fun. This was probably my best chance at a high tier school with good financial aid so I will be putting my name on the list, but I’ve pretty much decided to attend my super cheap safety school. Oh well
Just accepted into Colby’s Global Entry Semester, does anyone have information about it? I understand that it’s abroad but what does it mean for regular admissions?
Waitlisted. Honestly surprised, visited and had 2140 sat, gpa was a little low 3.78. And I got into Colgate which has the same acceptance rate and ranking at Colby but it’s a little bigger so they can accept more people. These small schools are getting harder to get into every year.
Accepted! Highest individual ACT 31, highest combined ACT 33. 3.98 UW GPA. 4.34 W GPA. Visited once for Parent’s Weekend, as my sister is a current freshman at Colby. Interviewed, slept over, and attended an info session. Honestly, quite surprised I got in, as I have only taken three AP courses, with all honors.
I think my saving graces were (1) showed interest through contacting admission officers/interviewing and by applying EDI (got deferred) (2) went to a very competitive high school in CT (3) 99.9% sure I won’t receive any financial aid (4) good interview/essay (5) my sister goes to Colby
My best of luck to anyone who is waitlisted, and I feel for those who got rejected. We have all been there.
Rejected. 2250 SAT, my school doesn’t calculate GPA and uses a 6 point scale so it doesn’t translate well. I didn’t show any interest, I pretty much applied because it was a free application and it was in Maine, I like Bates a lot better, and I’m waiting to hear back from them.
Thanks so much!
Accepted! I was also wondering if any of you know where we can see our financial aid?
Waitlisted with 1420/2170 showing no interest. Eh oh well…
