Accepted and very surprised. I sent in the wrong draft of my essay and had to call admissions to get it fixed. Showed no interest except for having an alumni interview (which I didn’t think went very well). Kind of applied on a whim because my dad asked me too. 32 ACT. 3.9 UW GPA, 4.8 W.
Accepted with $5500 research stipend and all expense paid 6 week stay at Colby to do research, it’s called CAPS. I have a 4.34 weighted and 3.6 unweighted gpa and a 28 act score LOL. My essay was fantastic, I am the RI state champion discus thrower, recommendations were great…I also went to Experience Colby and had dinner with the dean and admissions counselors etc so I got to talk to them directly and make an impact there as well as during my Alumnus interview…also accepted to Middlebury College and Boston College…
Rejected but probs would not have gone anyways.
@vmarion1998 how do you get eligible for that research opportunity?
I assume that financial aid packages will come in the mail with the official acceptance letters, which should come by April 1st I believe. I could be completely wrong though.
@tyratrya22
Rejected, but, oh well I applied just because it was free
Waitlisted… and I really thought i would get in. I have tons of family who went to Colby, and I had an interview and everything. -.-
@books217 I didn’t do anything to be eligible for the research opportunity, I am honestly very surprised…if anything I would assume that it was my college essay that did it because I talked about how I wanted to do neuroscience research
Oh I’m also looking to major in Neuroscience!!! Congrats on this opportunity! @vmarion1998
International here! Got in!
@mtnrunr97, what does it mean? “Congratulations on your admission to Colby, unfortunately the front entryway is already full so you will have to come in through the back door.”
(My son was also admitted into the Global Entry Semester, it was a surprise to us too).
Does anyone know if those who receive an acceptance also are sent an acceptance package in the mail?
Yes, my daughter is a first year at Colby and she was too nervous to check on-line…so she waited to find out by mail.
All information was included except financial aid information which came a little later.
@eugeinc Congratulations Did you apply for financial aid as well?
@joshm22210 Gotta agree that it’s a crapshoot. All college admission are a crapshoot pretty much. Got accepted to Colby without showing any interest. (Accepted to Yale in Singapore, U of Miami, & UF; Rejected from Tulane, USC, UNC, & Duke) It all seems pretty random at this point
Did anyone receive the acceptance package yet?
@DVDplayer I received mine today in NY.
@sparks487 Does the it say when it was sent out?
Anybody knows Colby’s total cost of attendance for 2016-17?
COA is $66k. My D declined due to FA of $8k leaving a net cost of $58k. Every other school she was accepted to had a net cost of about $32k.
