COLGATE ED LEGACY CHANCES

My stats:
-White male from NY
-94.24 GPA unweighted (equivalent of a 3.9 I believe, but correct me if I’m wrong)
-31 ACT first time; 32 second time
-7 APs: European History, Literature and Composition, US History, Language and Composition, Biology, Government and Politics, and Macroeconomics
-8 Honors: Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, French 3 Honors, French 4 Honors, Humanities Research 1, 2 and 3 Honors, Algebra 2 Honors
-My school doesn’t provide class rank beyond quintiles, so all I know is that I’m in the top quintile of my class (top 20%).

Activities/Positions:
-National Honor Society member
-President of Sustainability Club
-Vice President of Mock Trial Team
-Head Editor for school-run blog
-Historian of Model United Nations
-Trumpet section leader in my school’s most selective Jazz Ensemble
-JV athlete on cross country team
-Created my own student-run tutoring business with my friend from another school district
-Founded local environmental organization focused on engaging younger students in creating innovative sustainability initiatives in my local community.
-Scholar in Humanities Research program started at my school (a three-year intensive independent research program that allows you to concentrate on a topic within the humanities disciplines; most students end the program with a 20-30 page thesis of work); I’ll be getting some of my work published in January.

Additional info:
-Legacy status: my mom, aunt, and uncle all attended Colgate.
-I’m working alongside my AP Lit teacher on my essay.
-I’m interested in pursuing poli sci, anthropology, or English. I’m also interested in doing some sort of concentration in environmental studies/policy.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Colgate is highly selective, but you’d appear to be fine for admission based on your record, legacy status and plans for an ED application. (Conversion to a 4.0 scale requires “pre-conversions” by individual course grades.) Good luck.

Thanks @merc81 , I appreciate the feedback!

go for ed.
