The College Confidential decision countdown says they will release decisions on 3/23 at 8:13pm. Why the very specific time? And how do they know. The Colgate website says “by late March.”

Number 13 is very significant for Colgate University. In sept 1817, 13 men gathered and offered 13 prayers and 13 Dollars. The occasion culminated in settling on 13 articles for a constitution that led to the creation of what is now Colgate University.

Well, this has to be the most inactive college thread of 2023 we attend. Apathy reigns at Colgate I guess. Compare to Syracuse with almost 400 posts for the same topic and SUNY Bing and Buff and Cornell large numbers too. Food for thought.

Those other schools admit far more students. Activity is somewhat proportionate to school population except for things like the Ivys.

OK. I assume you saw my post that the 3/23 at 8:13 was last year’s release date and not this year as you assumed. Who knows what it is this year. I agree there is a weak correlation between school size, ivy and posts here but as with SAT correlation to college success, it is weak and not predictive. Colgate has to be a REAL outlier on low participation in the forum. Doesn’t matter though. You either get in or you don’t. The pre-decision is just a fun game of prediction.

I think my S’s portal says a decision is expected this Friday the 24th. Fingers crossed!

Ivy wise website says “March 23 (confirmed by email)”

You are probably correct. Seems like Thursday or Friday are preferred days. I also read that Syr is this Friday (no idea if correct) and that is a week later than usual. U Roc was last Friday and of course Ivy Day is late next week. What fun…NOT

Per the Colgate email sent 3/17 “Admission decisions will be released Friday, March 24, at 8:13 p.m. ET”

My son said he got that email, too.
20,000 applications for about 350 spots, regular admission. It’s a crap shoot, that is why there isn’t much activity here. Best of luck everyone.

Syracuse usually releases last 3 Friday’s in March. No a parent order. My daughter is W and got her acceptance notification on second batch
