FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU just got an email from them. rejected. Damnit

@alisyn: I just got the same email oh well, let’s hope for the best news from the other places :)

Well, at least it was a nice letter. I’m smiling, but I have tears in my eyes. Sonofa*****, it stings a little.
Good luck to everyone!

insanegolfer23–I got a handwritten note too

@alisyn,monkey29992 and SwedishChris…you guys, one thing i realise with international admissions is that it’s unpredicatable. I remember a girl from India last year got rejected from Colgate and about 11 other schools. she only got into 3 universities-Harvard, Princeton and some other place I can’t recall. The exact same thing happened to a girl from Nigeria, so I know it’s probably not worth much right now but we’re alllll gonna get in somewhere!

I got my acceptance letter today as well.

Brief stat summary, 2080 SAT 800CR 640M 640W
3.93 Weighted GPA, 13th in a class of 361.

And, yes to answer insanegolfer23’s question.
I too had a small handwritten note on my acceptance letter, though it wasn’t about my essay.

i got a handwritten note as well (but it was about one of my activities, not my essay), which was a really nice touch, plus the acceptance letter was so not generic, they addressed me by my name in all the paragraphs. Accepted students you all should join the fb group! (: hopefully i’ll meet some of you guys!

International student. Got email rejection.

right, sorry, to clarify: mine wasn’t about my essay either, it was about my passion for acting, which I did end up discussing in my essay

Do emails only go to international students?

I think they sent admissions packages to accepted int’ls and they sent emails to those that weren’t accepted.

Accepted :).
Stats: 2160 SAT
32 ACT
98.5 GPA
I had a handwritten note on my acceptance letter. It mentioned quotes from my recommendations and the impact I had on my town :)

Rejected, but I am bummed out very little…
I expected it fully.
I am an international student, asking for tons of aid, with international and national awards, 45/45 on the IB and a first percentile SAT, so I hope they thought I was overqualified - a friend of mine last year who got into Columbia, Princeton, Harvard and Dartmouth was also turned down by Colgate…

Congratulations to those who got in. I am sure you guys deserve it more than I do, especially if Colgate was your first choice… :)

swimfreak! i remember you from the yale scea boards. congrats!!!

ahhh, waiting patiently on the mail to come…I already got into my 1st choice, Cornell but I would still love to have Colgate as an option !!

I’m an international but going to a prep school in KY. Yet to get a mail yet. If I were an out-of-country international, I would be relieved for not getting the e-mail rejection, but since I’m a domestic international, I wouldn’t think they would e-mail me but rather give me a mail rejection (if that’s the case). Why hasn’t it come today???

Rejection email. I am not so sure whether I will go to college in the US after this since I have been rejected by the 2 “easiest” schools on my list. Now I am awaiting replies from Vassar, Middlebury, Amherst and Dartmouth… I hate this.

So it seems out-of-the-states internationals got rejection emails… any domestic internationals (those who came to the U.S. since high school) getting emails?

P.S. condolences for those internationals who just got a rejection. As stated before in the thread, international admissions involve many unpredictable/uncontrollable variables. I’m sure you will get into some awesome colleges. Just keep your fingers crossed.

aaaaaaannnndddd REJECTED…first one for me

I already know where I’m going, but the rejection still bothers me haha

deferred ED. REJECTED today
800Math, 800 CR, 630 writing, 33 ACT, great LORS, creative essay.

Really bummed
