<p>My daughter was accepted ED to Columbia yesterday, and I'd like to thank all the wonderful posters on this board for helping us conduct the process with some semblance of knowledge/information. While I haven't been posting, I have been lurking for the past few months and have learned so much. Waiting for the coveted email at 5 pm yesterday was much harder than I would have thought, but my daughter is ecstatic and full of giggles, which is totally unlike her. Having the application process behind her means that just maybe she can manage her 6 AP courses and still have a fun senior year.

With the nervousness of waiting for the ED decision, this is welcome news. I am really big on Georgia. So now he has two great state universities- Indiana and Georgia. My son is really going to college!</p>

<p>I suspect my son knows my screenname, but he rarely gets on CC. He has never mentioned my screenname, but it sure wouldn't surprise him. His checkered past is certainly no secret! He thinks I am obsessed with college admissions and colleges in general, which is true. I think he'll lighten up if he gets good news next week from his ED school.</p>

<p>Just got the letter from Amherst College, my son is in!!!! We are so happy and relieved. Congratuations to all other EDers that also got good news.We realize how lucky my son is,and that there are so many wonderful, qualified students out there waiting to hear. Regardless of the indivdual oucomes, our kids deserve a round of applause for all they have accomplished so far.</p>

<p>I am an alumni parent of CC. My son is in his freshman year at Yale and is quite happy. I have not been on this site for almost a year but curiousity got the better of me tonight. To all parents whose kids have been accepted I share your relief and wish them congrats. To all those who were deferred or rejected, I offer hope. My son was deferred early from another Ivy. We licked our wounds, learned what we did wrong and adjusted. Tell your child to not give up hope and not to take it personally. My other son will not be in the process for another two years so I get a break for now. Good luck to everyone.</p>
