MOWC,
Big, big congrats to S of MOWC! I have been (silently) following this saga. As others say, how wild could he be? And yes, surely others will benefit from your offer of "expertise."

OK, MOWC, he must be wild in a GOOD way! Congrats again!

Very happy for Wild Child and his Mom! Today is my Ds ED decision day but we're overseas, so will have to wait patiently.

There must be a special place in heaven for the Mothers of Wild Childs. And our own MOWC is feeling a well-deserved little bit of that heaven right now. YES!!!

MOWC--CONGRATULATIONS to you and your S!!! And who said dreams don't come true?!

Momofwildchild,

So very glad for your son and for you! It is fantastic to see the dream come true!

Did anyone hear from Harvard...i know of two fantastic applicants who got deferred...we are all scratching our heads

YAY! MOWC, I am so excited for you and your son! How exciting. What a wonderful Christmas gift and now, no worries and no more applications! Please give him my best!

Congrats to everyone, especially Kat's kitten and Wild Son - MOWC, that came out of nowhere - I thought the school WS was waiting on was Williams - duh - congrats to him!

MOWC, I also have been silently watching you and your son's journey (notice my CC name). I am the mother of a "marches to a different drummer" (but not necessarily "wild") child who is currently a senior at Penn and who is very, very happy there - and is ever so NOT looking forward to graduating and moving on. I can't imagine a better place for your son and I expect that he will love it there. Meanwhile, if you ever need help traversing Penn's Office of Student Financial Services maze, or have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Congratulations to everyone else on their/their childrens' acceptances and incredible stamina just for going through the process. I'm sure that for the vast majority of those that haven't heard good news yet, it's just a matter of time. For those who are about to become empty nesters, I thought I would offer reassurances that its going to be a lot less traumatic (and more fun) than you may be anticipating.

Congrats to all the latest acceptees! MOWC-I have been silently holding my breath waiting for your ED post. I am thrilled things have worked out for your son. What a happy holiday season for your family. Best wishes for a successful academic and athletic career at Penn.

Wow, congratulations to all who have received such wonderful acceptances! With two applying at the same time, I don't have much time to post but I do check in to read everyone's good news! :)

We were delighted to learn last night that one of our twins was accepted to Harvard SCEA. :)

WOW -- with this impressive list, we parents should start our own 'Best of Colleges'...(with Carolyn as editor, of course).

Congrats to ALL early accepees. Go wildchild and audiophillie.

carolyn

My question/remark about Wisconsin weather was partially tongue-in-cheek as you probably guessed from some of our previous emails and knowing A's desire to get out of Southern California. It will be a bit of culture shock for her though to be honest, I really enjoyed it most of the time...The only things that ever got to me were the weeks where it was just gray all the time. When the snow got dirty and mixed with the slush which was exacerbated by being virtually downtown and the urban nature of the campus it was no fun and got pretty dreary. On the other hand, on sunny days walking in the fresh snow could be exhilarating and the "quiet" was remarkable.

As some others have mentioned , we wore it like a badge of honor, the old "you think that's cold?....." routine. Since many of my office mates also either have kids in college or about to head that way, we often swap "war stories" about winter travails. It's hard for most of my co-workers to top the Milwaukee winter tales.

Although DD applied (at our urging to SLU and my alma mater (Marquette) getting her over the hump mentally about ANY school north of the Mason-Dixon line is going to be a challenge when all cards are finally on the table.

She keeps reminding us that she's a "southern girl" with my aplogies to any CCers who don't consider Dallas as truly in the south!

Yessss! My D got the Dean's scholarship at Drexel and a 10000 per year scholarship at our state university...I am doing cartwheels right now!

Has anyone heard from WUSTL yet. I think that ED's come out today. I'm feeling down that I didn't let my S apply ED to that school and Penn. His 2 favorite schools. After reading all the stats on CC -- applying RD is not going to make either one happen for him.

mumsie, congratulations.

WUSTL decisions were out earlier this week online.

Mumsie, congratulation on the acceptance to Drexel and money too Yeah :)

Twinmom, congrats on the Harvard EA. Does this now mean one down and one to go?
