congrats to all! A friend went to Centre College, and he says that it truly changed his life, which I found amusing because he was totally unfamiliar with Loren Pope's book!

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie, although I've been a reader of CC for months. I haven't posted, though, because my S used to be a regular here, and it just seemed like his turf! Anyway, he's ED to Penn, and we couldn't be more excited. Congrats to everyone who can now relax and enjoy the year!

Central Connecticut State University! 3 for 3 :) OH I THINK THEY LIKE ME!

Thank you quiltguru!! =)

Did anyone hear from Lawrence University WI? Their EA admissions should be coming by today.

I got into Carnegie Mellon

Don't have a kid applying this year, but just wanted to pop in and say congratulations to everyone -- The list is so long already, and we're nowhere near April yet! The master list is a wonderful collection of schools across the board and across the country. It is representative of much hard work, and many hopes and dreams. Good work, everyone, and best wishes to those still waiting to hear, as well.

Hi everyone, a quick question. What is a "sticky" thread?

A sticky thread is a thread that is "stuck" or pinned to the top of the list of threads on an individual forum. It does't move down the list if there are no new posts but stays at the top because moderators felt it was either an important thread or an ongoing topic that they did not want to slip down to the bottom of the page or go to the next page of the forum. For example, the list of acceptances is an ongoing thread that most want to check on an ongoing basis at this time of year...thus it is "stuck" to the top of the list of threads by the moderators. Only the moderators can "stick" a thread.
