College Acceptances: celebrate here!

WOAH - Congratulations to all ... but SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS (yes, I'm yelling) to Andi and Andison! There is a saying that all good things come to those who wait - and how true it is in this case. I am just thrilled for you - perhaps my son and your son will wind up being roommates at Brandeis! :)

That would be so cool!! A CC 'first' perhaps??

:) Hope to meet you if we accompany our son to Accepted Students Days so I can offer my congratulations in person!

that roommate thing happened on the old pr board at umich iirc

My son also got into Santa Clara U--his first reply from any school. Nice to know that he has a place to go. They're even offering some money, which is even nicer!
Congrats to Andison & Andi! Full tuition at a great U--HURRAH!

Is that two offers from Santa Clara U on the boards today? good for your S...it is always nice to be wanted and offered some scholarship money. keep us posted!

Himom and Faline2,
It is his first offer as well. He thinks he will likely go there, but is still curious about two other schools. I think he and SCU are a very good fit. But I am not going there.
No scholarship offer thought. High SAT with lower GPA so I don't expect any offers. I wish Hawaii had more colleges. we use to live in Kailua, sons were both born at Castle. Will always think of Kailua as home.

edit: there was another acceptance posted over the weekend to SCU, someone from our area of Calif.

Yea, it sounds like Santa Clara is sending out rolling admissions. It's a beautiful school & our tour guide obviously loved his years there. He was a philosophy major & SCU education helped him get a good fellowship so he could get his graduate degree at a UC school. We know quite a few HI kids who have matriculated at SCU & all except one were happy there. One boy we know got his Bachelor's & Masters in 4 years because he had so many AP credits when he started at SCU. The boy who wasn't happy returned home to UHawaii after one year because he found it was too "commuter" an atmosphere (which is ironic, since school doesn't come much more commuter than UHawaii, where he transferred to).

I too wish HI had more good colleges to choose among. Hawaii Pacific University in Kaneohe is on a nice site, but my son is ready to try further from home.

Son get his letter from SCU yesterday. Today, he got a call from an ivy alum for his alum interview--it's going to be over the phone because the original alum had a personal emergency & had to leave the country.

ANDI!!!!!!

OMG OMG OMG This is amazing!!!!!!!! I could not be happier if your son was my son!!!!

YES!! Kat said it perfectly. Good things do happen to nice people.:)

Love and hugs, SB

Well, again, I am new to this list but my D received a letter saying she had been accepted to University of California, Irvine honors college. This is the first one and it is her safety school.

Welcome to Weaver and congrats to daughter - hope it is the first of many more!

To All of you who are gettin good news: So Wonderful~ Congratulations.

And, andi, I am thrilled BEYOND WORDS for Andison! That is fantastic!

My friend's daughter is at UC Irvine Honor's College with a Regent's Scholarship. She's happy there. She chose it over more selective schools so she could be comfortable & have social & other aspects to her college experience that she wasn't as sure about getting at a more competitive school. She loves that there is a bus or train that can take her straight from school to New Mexico where she's from.

Andi,
As we say in the old country-MAZEL TOV! I could only imagine through cyberspace what an outstanding musician andison is, but the Leonard Bernstein scholarship puts it "in concrete." This is simply fabulous news and I hope that he has as much "tsuris" trying to decide which offer to accept as he did on D-day last year. You guys deserve the best!

Andi -
Congratulations again - on Rochester. My daughter got in there today too ... guess they can't room together!

Congrats HImom and weaver!!

twinmom- lol andison now has a double chance of being with one of the twins? How funny!!

Thanks, everyone! Andi, I missed reading about your son's admission to Rochester. Congrats! We visited the schools in the Rochester area last summer, but son found it too rural (& likely too cold) for him. Beautiful area & schools tho.

Yea, Andison!

Yea Twinmom's D!!

Andi-

Just saw the acceptance to U of R!!!! Choices, choices, choices....good things come to those that wait!!

He is probably so excited!!! And the question we hear all the time around here, that I now get to ask is......is he leaning any direction???

DS is asked daily, numerous times, and his response is "need to wait and see, come April 1st". Sooooooooooo, now I get to:

"Where's he leaning?????"

Kat
