She's in, folks. DD got her acceptance letter from Hendrix today. Stars fell from the packet as ripped it open to have a look! :)

Congrats!!! I am very happy for your D. Tell her Texans are smiling wide for her. The stars are cool, huh?

(I just loved my D's confused look while they were falling out. Then the "leap of the goat" dance and the rush to call her friends.)

Schools like these maybe safeties to some people but they are our kids top picks because of feel and fit and $ and focus and program and attitude and campus (and in my estimation, they could have picked most anywhere).

I am really very pleased for y'all since I know how highly she regarded Hendrix.

Splashmom, Congrats to your D!

that's great - AND the envelope with stars is a nice touch. Congrats!!!

I am so excited for all of you and your kids. These are great schools and it is hard to understand HOW wonderful they are without having visited, but I know how schools have won me (and my kids) over once we "met" them.
We are on the countdown for WildChild's ED school- 9 days.

Splashmom,

WOWIEWOWIEWOWIE!

I am so happy for y'all!!

So glad . . . congrats!!!!!

Splashmom -

That is so great!

Thanks all! We are absolutely thrilled! Yes, the stars falling from the envelope was such a nice touch.

Curmudgeon, you are so right in what you say about some of these schools being the school, not just a safety, for some students like my daughter. We visited numerous schools and she chose to apply to only two ... Hendrix and Centre. They both made a huge impression on us and DD just "felt" those were the only two in which she had an interest. I can honestly say I know she would be happy at either.

Momofthree, thank you so much for your words of wisdom and encouragement over the past several months. It's always such a pleasure to chat with you. I have relayed your best wishes to Splash. She's been grinning from ear-to-ear. I'm keeping a watchful eye on the accepted list so we can celebrate when your S2 gets his letters!

Splashmom,

I sent you a PM! So glad for you!

SplashMom - hooray, hooray! I am thrilled to read your daughter was accepted to Hendrix - I know she will love it there if she chooses to attend.

And my daughter was whooping it up a minute ago with her Tulane acceptance. It was wonderful to see her open up her first (hopefully) letter of acceptance!

I am new to this...can anyone tell me how the merit scholarship thing works? Do you get an admission letter first and then the scholarship letter (if any!) or do they tell you what your scholarship is in the admission letter...Any info on this would be helpful.
