mumsie - That totally varies from school to school. In my S's case, the admission letters and merit letters were separate at two schools. You have to check each school's website/application materials separately.

My, my,

Can't leave you guys for a moment. As the ED decisions come closer it is so great to read about so many acceptances and scholarhsips. The good night sleep that is taking place in your house because you know your kid's got a school under the belt- priceless.

Hey Curmie,

I hope that you and Dodds have restocked the bar because it looks as if you are going to be serving a lot drinks as I heard you are hosting the big party to honor all of these acceptances

I'm praying that Dodds got our little issue with our SA charge card "handled" and we CAN re-stock. Bar food is down to beanie-weenies and cocktail onions. Still plenty of cyber champagne though so no worries.

Congrats to all accepted students AND parents of accepted students! It will be a happier holiday for all of you with your good news.

I see they continue to roll in curmudgeon! YAY!

curm - love that cyber champagne!

Atlantamom - U of Wisconsin and UMich, huh? If your screename indicates where you live, then your student will have to pay for tuition, room, board and. . . WINTER COATS! Congratulations, and hope s/he stays warm!

Curmudgeon, Congratulations to your daughter - Millsaps is an excellent school, and from your description of Hanover, it sounds like a wonderful place. More to come, I'm sure!

Happy days, Curmudgeon! Congrats to you and DD!

A big CONGRATULATIONS to everyone! It's exciting to see the list of acceptances growing.

I agree - it is so much fun to check these threads every day and share in the good news. A hearty congratulations to all our kids!

D was accepted to U of Michigan 11/23 and today got an invitation to apply to the Honor's College.

C-mudge and all,
I think I have the SA credit card problem straightened out. It seems that the card company has been dinging our account for all the Duh Dad! charges, rather than only the Doddsdad charges. Im glad Im not that guy. There are millions of entries on his account. Okay, Ive ordered the pickled baloney and pickled eggs, anything else?

As C-mudge said, weve been stockpiling cyber-champagne in SA because we knew there would be plenty to celebrate. Congrats to everyone on their acceptances!!!

Congratulations on all your acceptances! It's wonderful to see all these kids with so many great options already!

Congratulations to everyone--so encouraging to hear all this good news. Please remember to add your names to the Masterlist--makes it much easier to keep an overview:

My daughter is going to Dartmouth!!! We're doing the dance of joy here.
I want to thank all the faithful CCers for all their help. I was so naive before I found this forum. I thought good stats, good ECs and you were in. Without your help my daughter wouldn't have put so much into her application and probably wouldn't have applied ED. Now she's going to her dream school and can toss out the remaining applications. Time to crank up the fire.

1ofeach. Congrats! How great to be done and have very happy daughter.

And to all the deferees who found out today, don't lose hope. This is just one blip in your process.

Congratulations to you and your D 1ofeach! Well done! Hope she has her parka ready!

Wonderful news 1ofeach! That is so very exciting. Please pass on congratulations to your happy daughter! :)

Just found out S got accepted Dartmouth ED. (Yayyy! Happy dance and cyber-cartwheels!)

What 1ofeachsaid: I've learned so much here -- from building a safe-and-sane college list to Books to Read to how to approach an interview -- and practically everything in between. Thanks so much!

Congratulations to all students and families who've gotten good news already.
High hopes for everyone still waiting -- and for those deferred or rejected at this early stage -- so sorry for the disappointment you must feel. But as Alumother said -- it's a blip in the process. Take a deep breath, regroup, and look to your list. A wonderful collection of colleges on it, no doubt -- one of them will be the Right School for you.

What a day.

S got an acceptance into Sports Management at University of South Carolina today(Early Action).Add it to his U Michigan acceptance.
Congrats to the Dartmouth acceptances that came today
Is that the first ED that people are hearing about?
