I think you have a medium shot in getting in considering your high SAT scores, but it’s never a guarantee. Let that be your motivation to work hard and get the best grades possible from now on. Have you considered self studying an 1 or 2 more AP exams? I think doing that will not only show admissions that you excel in college level work, but your working hard and going out of your way to challenge yourself. My sources are from a friend who had a similar gpa of 3.4 and high SATs and AP tests and got into NYU,U of Washington and UC schools in California. Don’t forget to take your SAT II’s and study for them! Private look into those alot.

Since your applying to UCLA and they use the UC app you might as well apply to UC Berkeley, since all you have to do is check off the box. For the UC’s I think you have a great shot since they use the holistic approach. You have a way better SATs and more AP exams taken than my friend who got into UCLA for the fall too.

I think you have a decent chance.

Word of fair warning: UC schools have their funds being restricted due to state issues and you may not get the aid package you want.

I agree with ^dystopiclife^. On the other hand, " if " your high income you have a great shot at the UC’s since the UC’s are admitted more and more OOS every year.

First of all, thanks a lot appreciate the responses! Yeah that seems to be the issue nowadays, but my parents are first-generation immigrants and though they make a lot (~$115,000 pre-tax), we’re in a boatload of debt. That seems to cross the UC schools off the list if what they’re looking for is out-of-state tution :(

Crap, forgot to mention one thing, I got a D+ (69%) in AP Calc in the First Semester, how am I gonna overcome that? That dropped my weighted from a 4.3 to a 4.0 and unweighted from 4.0 to a 3.6, but will colleges scramble cause of that?
