College Admission Consultant in New Jersey

Parents,

Once I again I come to you for help. A few weeks ago, I started a thread about my 15 year old son who is in 10th grade currently and asked for recommendations from other parents. Thread link is below. In that thread we received a lot of good advice from parents and some truly helped our son to change his perspective.

As I mentioned it that thread, my wife and I are from Eastern Europe and we didn’t go to school in USA. Since we are not familiar with the process, we are not able to help answer questions from our son. Since it isn’t practical to start a thread each time we have a question, I am hoping we can find a good consultant in New Jersey who helped other parents here in College Confidential. More importantly, our son asked our help for a consultant who specializes on kids like him.

Our son is a Stem student and wants to study Physics/Math in college and he is targeting elite schools like MIT, Princeton. He has the grades for it and his mock ACT results are as high as it gets.

Now some of you might say a consultant isn’t needed. And probably you would be right. But since our son asked our help, we want to hire one. Look there is a great chance he won’t get into MIT or Princeton. My wife and I don’t want him to think as parents we could have done more for him. So if he doesn’t get into his target colleges, at least we can say we did everything we could.

Thanks again parents. As an expat family, we are seeing great support from parents here. Truly appreciate it.

Ask around your neighborhood for referrals. You can also look at IECA (make sure anyone you use is a member of at least one of the professional associations). You can sort by location here: https://www.iecaonline.com/quick-links/member-directory/

Christina Mangano at Collegewise was truly a godsend. Great with us and our daughter, made the whole thing way less stressful (but still stressful),

Your best bet is to ask around locally. Post in a local parents group on social media.

CC forums are not a place to ask for names and numbers of private individuals who work for profit. You can look for local advertisements or on Yelp, and so forth.

Closing.
